If you're looking for a storied location for your Christmas party that's brimming with history, you won't much better than Queen Mary University's Queens Building. This Grade II listed building was first built in 1887 by celebrated Pre-Raphaelite architect ER Robson, and it stands today as one of the University's most iconic structures.
Inside you'll find one of London's most unique Christmas party spaces - The Octagon. This room was first build as Queen Mary Library, designed in homage to the famous Reading Room at the British Library. The Octagon was renovated in 2006 but it retains all of its Victorian charm, with leather-bound books lining the walls and busts of famous literati looking down from the beautiful high domed ceiling. This all comes together to make The Octagon a truly unique place to spend your Christmas party - there's room for a seated banquet of 180 people, or up to 500 if you're planning a big Christmas drinks party.
If The Octagon is top of your Christmas list, you'll find yourself in good hands with the dedicated and knowledgeable Queen Mary Venues events team, who are on hand to help you customise every aspect of your party. Also on hand are the Queen Mary Hospitality team who provide in-house catering across all the venues. The catering team are extremely experienced and capable of handling anything from grand banquets to small formal lunches and cocktail snacks. There's a gargantuan range of options in their repertoire, and the team can tailor a delicious menu to fit any occasion and range of dietary requirements.
Queen Mary University has a number of different venues available at the Mile End campus, and more facilities still in Whitechapel, West Smithfield and Charterhouse Square.
